Pretty close to perfect
First things first…the flavor is phenomenal. Maybe one of my top five backpacking meals. Without question I will be buying this again to add to the pack. I do have to say that the dumplings did not rehydrate well and even after more time than suggested and being placed in a reflectix coozie, they were still a little bit crunchy. But the strange thing is that it was actually very pleasant. Reminded me of eating an incredible chicken stew with biscuits and once in a while you get a burnt biscuit bottom. Very tasty and it seemed to add some texture. So maybe a pro, maybe a con but the flavor, nutritional value, price, and serving size were perfect. Do yourself a favor and pick up this meal. Looking forward to the rest of the menu options. So glad I found Pinnacle Foods.

The Business!
The meals just keep on getting better and better. I keep a solid stash of this and the biscuits and gravy at all times. Phenomenal meal. Texture, ingredients, shelf life - all top shelf! The absolute best.

BEST Ever!
This meal is hands down the best I've ever had! I've tried many varieties and many brands, but this Pinnacle chicken and dumpling was just that good - comfort food that was super flavorful and really filling. I'll be buying a bunch of these so my other family members can enjoy it on our next backpacking trip!

One of my favorites.
The flavor is wonderful... The textures are spot on. This is probably my favorite breakfast pouch that I've tried and I've tried lots of companies. You won't be disappointed with this... Or any of the meals from Pinnacle.

Best Comfort Food!
This meal reminded me of chicken pot pie, which is my favorite comfort food. As others have mentioned the biscuits don't completely rehydrate, but the light crunchy texture just made it seem even more like chicken pot pie (the crust), so I don't think it's a bad thing! This is definitely one of the most delicious and satisfying backpacking meals I've eaten.

Good but not perfect
Absolutely fantastic meal, but it would be perfect if it had just a touch more seasoning. Still a go-to meal.

Religious Experience
Dug into this meal on second day of backpacking. Was everything my body needed, absolutely wonderful. Love the chicken chunks and biscuit / gravy. Seasoning and flavors were perfect. Will definitely always have this guy around for high intensity hikes.

AMAZING!!
Recently had these for dinner after a full day of backpacking, and was the perfect end to the day. Cooked one with the recommended amount of water and one with slightly less than the recommended. I proffered less water, but totally a person preference. Great job as always!!

Daayyymmmnnn
I have to say this is one of the tastiest backpacking meals I’ve ever had IMO.
Just ate mine here at the Sarver Hollow Shelter on the A.T. Can’t wait to order more of these!

So good!!
Tastes like something your grandma would make, if your grandma has a stove and ingredients in the middle of the backcountry. 10/10 would buy again.

Another fantastic meal!
Very yummy. And amazing on the trail. I usually add onions and other spices to backpack meals. These need nothing. My family asks for this off-trail!

Yum
Another delicious and satisfying meal though I recommend using a bit less water and waiting a bit longer for rehydration that indicated.

Good Taste and Consistency
Good taste and consistency overall. Very similar to a chicken pot pie IMO. The biscuits add great variety to the meals texture.

Amazing
Growing up in south Georgia, I was used to eating my grandma's homemade chicken n dumplins. It's my comfort food, so when I found this brand and this product I had to give it a try. This is the best backpacking meal I've ever had. It tasted great and esily digestable at over 12,000 feet, in my current home of Colorado. The Ingredients tasted fresh and did not make me feel sluggish afterwards, which happens with some of the other brands. I will be taking Pinnacle foods meals on my solo expedition of Aconcagua. I am confident these meals will taste great at high altitude and provide all the nutrients I need.

Herb Roasted & White Cheddar - Uh yeah!
This meal was one of the first meals that I had from Pinnacle Foods Co. I love any meal with biscuits and white cheddar biscuits literally called my name! I found that it took almost 20 minutes to fully rehydrate the biscuits (still pretty crunchy at the recommended 12 minutes) but the meal itself was delicious. I would definitely purchase again. Also needs a dash of salt to really being out the flavors. Another great meal!

Spot on
Loving all of the pinnacle flavors thus far. You guys have really changed the game in the MRE world!

Great flavor, but didn't hydrate well
The flavor was out of this world. And the consistency of just about everthing seemed as fresh as can be. But the dumplings did not rehydrate well and were crunchy on the interior. I didn't hate it, and it was still pleasurable and palatable. And I would still consider eating it again. However, I can still imagine it would be a lot better if it fully rehydrated.

Impressive!!
Wow. I've been avoiding freeze-dried backpacking meals for decades because so many horrible. This meal is spot on in every way - flavor, texture, consistency, calorie/weight ratio, & high protein. Really a perfect trail meal!! I would give this 6 stars if I could. Thank you!

10/10 will absolutely buy these again and again!
The Chicken and dumplings were fire! You can taste the amount of effort that went into making these so delicious. I agree with some of the reviews that the dumplings had a little bit of a crunch in the middle, but I prefer it that way. I will 100% be buying this again!

Really good!
Pinnacle is quickly becoming my favorite among freeze dried meals. I love this meal! Nice sauce, good flavor, good rehydration on the chicken. As with most dumpling or biscuit-type meals, these dumplings have a slight bit of crunch to them, but I actually prefer that. All in all, this is a really exceptional meal. I've ordered more of these to have on hand.

A trail meal I actually look forward to
I'll confess, sometimes while backpacking my evening meal is more endured than enjoyed. That's not even close to the case with Pinnacle Foods' Herb Roasted Chicken and White Cheddar Dumplings. Sure, it's still dehydrated food but it's easily the tastiest, best textured, and enjoyable trail meal I've eaten in years. Hint - after letting the pack sit for 12 minutes as directed, open and stir well, then close and let sit for another 3-4 minutes to help the biscuits rehydrate and lose any lingering crunchiness. Goodbye gagging down my dinner and hello to sporking up every drop!

Absolutely amazing!
This meal blew me away with how good it was. Giant tender pieces of chicken, rich creamy sauce and nice tender dumplings. So good!
